Process v. Goals Balance

Goals are important.
They can be a powerful source of motivation.
Without goals… it can be challenging to consistently find the energy and the determination you need to do the daily preparation and training that will help you achieve your goal.
The higher the goal and the more passion you have for achieving the goal… the better.
However, even the highest goals are just the end piece of the performance improvement puzzle.

Because when you only focus on your goal and do not use Success Progressions as the Process to help you achieve the goal… you will struggle with frustration and disappointment.
The bigger the goal the higher the potential for frustration and disappointment.
Because every time you encounter a new challenge on the way to your high goal… there is a strong chance you will experience failure.
Failure can be one of your greatest sources of self-knowledge when you view it from the correct perspective.
But it can also be very frustrating, and it can gradually erode your sense of self-belief.
Especially when your goal seems to get further away each time you experience failure relative to your goal.

My goal… is to help you achieve your goal.
I have been very fortunate in my life. I was able to play soccer and golf professionally. I won awards for teaching golfers. I won awards for helping athletes with their mental games. I have studied and taught Tai Chi. I have learned how to apply meditation and neuroscience to performance.
Now I would like to use all my experience in performance, coaching and the Mental Game to help you achieve your goal.
How we do that is up to you.
We can tailor your Success Progression for achieving your goal… to your specific needs.
I have introductory “Do It Your Self” online courses.
I also have in depth, 1 on 1 Personal Mentoring programs.
Or we can create something in between DIY and Mentoring that matches your goals and your needs.
BTW… if you already have a coach who helps you with your sports skills that is even better.
I love working together with Sports Specific coaches and athletes.
The journey to your goal gets much clearer and shorter when you are taking care of both your mind and your body with people who have been there before.
Either way... I would love to help.
If you know your Mental Game is keeping you from achieving your goal… let’s set up a free Zoom call.
