Managing Pressure

A big part of mental performance training for athletes is helping them recognize the signals that their body gives them when pressure is affecting their game.

We all get multiple signals.

Heart rate, depth of breathing, muscular tension and eye focus are the most common recognizable signals.

The key is finding the specific signal for each athlete that they can recognize the quickest.

Once you recognize your signal... The next step in performing better under pressure is to learn to reset ASAP.

Pressure will always affect athletes but you can learn to minimize it.
